Crown cells: Cells fit for royalty π
It's no secret that these are one of my favorite cells in the world of cytology.
The crown cell. Let's just all take a minute to revel in their beauty. π
These gorgeous cells contain many nuclei arranged in a circular pattern around the periphery of the cell. Hence the term, crown cell. π
So, what kind of tumor might you find these in?
Soft tissue sarcomas!
Hemangiopericytomas to be exact, which are a neoplasm of pericytes (important cells of blood vessels).
Hope you enjoyed this little bit-o-learning!
